For the second year in a row, Geotab’s technology, used by AttriX, has been named the world’s leading provider of commercial telematics by ABI Research. Geotab offers services in the field of IoT and connected transport. Geotab was ahead of Verizon and Trimble, reaffirming its status as a global leader in the field of commercial telematics.
MONT-SAINT-HILAIRE, SEPTEMBER 15, 2020 – ABI Research, which specialises in the technology market, awarded Geotab an overall score of 85 as part of a competitive evaluation. ABI Research ranked suppliers according to two categories: innovation and implementation. Geotab’s excellence has been recognised in both aspects, while taking into account the significant increase in its market share, its approach to open platforms, technological development and its extended partnership model.
“The last 12 months have shown how important it is to be able to rely on telematics to manage a fleet of vehicles, especially in times of crisis, to offer services and ensure the delivery of goods. With an average growth rate of 30%, Geotab has demonstrated its position as a leader in the field of telematics, in addition to continuing the evolution of its portfolio of solutions, its partnerships, as well as its sales and distribution strategy”, says Susan Beardslee, Senior Freight and Logistics Analyst at ABI Research.
In January 2020, Geotab announced that it had exceeded two million global subscribers, formalizing its position as the world’s largest commercial telematics provider. The impacts of COVID-19 have not slowed the company down, which continued its operations, gaining 100,000 subscribers since January and selling some 40,000 units in the month of June alone.
“As Geotab celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, the fact that it is once again at the top of the ABI Research rankings is proof to us that we have formed a good association. This top ranking demonstrates Geotab’s commitment to providing the fleets with the most advanced technologies and confirms its vibrancy and innovative contribution to the transportation industry”, says Anthony Mainville, President of AttriX.
Geotab currently equips more than 2.1 million vehicles with its telematics technology, in addition to providing data to more than 40,000 customers worldwide. Geotab allows users to customize their solution with more than 150 complementary applications and software. The company processes more than 40 billion data per day from vehicles connected to Geotab worldwide. Geotab’s devices are sold in more than 130 countries through its worldwide network of authorized resellers, including AttriX in Quebec and Canada.
“Despite the many challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Geotab has not only proven itself by increasing sales and subscribers, but has also continued to provide ongoing support to its customers during challenging times. It is thanks to our partners, resellers and customers, as well as the hard work and dedication of our staff around the world, that Geotab is a success,” says Neil Cawse, President and CEO of Geotab.
