Helping fleets adapt to the post COVID-19 recovery trend.

Mont-Saint-Hilaire, QC, June 11th 2021 – A live look at what’s happening in overall vehicle and border activity, fuel fill-ups and specific market activity. Since the start of this global pandemic, Geotab has released data sets to help support responsiveness by governments, fleets and the general public. On the road to recovery, we are doing the same. Based on aggregated and anonymized information from a database of more than 2 million commercial vehicles worldwide, here is a live snapshot of global commercial vehicle and border activity, fueling events and industry-specific activity.

Our goal

The post-pandemic era will be a welcomed period for all, and hopefully, as most post critical period, one of economic recovery. Although welcomed by all, our data already shows multiple challenges in the manufacturing and transportation sector in their capacity to answer the sudden increase in demand without data trends to show pre-trend data curves per sector.

Our objective is to identify and correlate multiples economic, and mobility data trends per area and industry sectors and enable fleets to overlay their own increase in activities per region and industry.

The expected trend curves will thus enable fleets to predictively identity number of trucks and drivers will be necessary as the recovery accelerates.

Examples of data sources and metrics to consider for the fleet:

– Mileage per fleet > truck > vs pre-Covid
– Asset utilization vs pre-covid median vs month to month
– Number of equipment and drivers vs pre-Covid median
