Several analysts already agree today that the transportation sector will change as a result of this COVID-19 pandemic that is paralyzing the planet. It is far too early to anticipate and predict the real impacts of the crisis on our industry. However, AttriX is already working hard to prepare effectively for the post-VID-19 period.

One thing seems more than certain: the current crisis will force us to make changes to our ways of doing things. This is an opportunity that we absolutely must seize. In the transportation world, especially in the trucking sector, these changes are likely to take different forms. Telematics is becoming a solution to consider.

Telematics to reduce the environmental footprint

Our technology partner, Geotab, has a long history of supporting its different pillars of fleet management: productivity, safety, optimization, compliance and scalability. The sixth and final pillar, sustainability, reflects the role that telematics plays in helping fleets reduce their environmental footprint.

A successful sustainability initiative also integrates these elements:

– technology and innovation;

– legislation, public policy and governance;

– economic and financial incentives.

Implementing these measures can have a positive impact on all costs of a trucking and transportation business. The data provided by telematics can, among other things, inform companies about a wealth of valuable real-time information and play a significant role in promoting sustainable development.

Thanks to telematics, managers can also monitor driver behaviour. If necessary, they will be able to recommend training, such as that provided by AttriX. Safe driving also ensures that any company is well represented on the road and that products are delivered safely.

AttriX is already on the job

AttriX is already working on several telematics solutions. The current crisis therefore becomes a good time for Quebec to position itself more in this emerging market and to equip itself with essential performance-related tools. Our Electronic Health Check (EHC), launched a few days ago, is an excellent example that deserves to be highlighted.

In fact, the ESO is intended to help customers and the industry track the health of their drivers. This simple 7-question form is available through the driver application, Geotab Drive.

As an employer, fleet managers are responsible for protecting the health and safety of their employees while at work. The ESO allows them to easily and confidentially identify drivers who show symptoms

Strengthening our leadership

In doing so, we recognize, in conclusion, that the contribution of technological innovation in our field presents very important opportunities for transport. AttriX is already working in this direction to further demonstrate its leadership in our industry.

We are working to bring you more initiatives in the near future. Stay tuned!
