In order to contribute to the achievement of the ecological goal set by the Quebec government in its Plan for a Green Economy 2030, the Ministère des Transports has decided to renew and improve its assistance program for the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the trucking industry (Ecotrucking program).
By optimizing the efficiency of this sector and electrifying freight transportation in the short and medium term, we can significantly reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and Quebec's dependency on oil.
The program has been in effect since December 14, 2021, and ends on March 31, 2024. However, it is retroactive to April 1, 2021, for the "Technology Acquisition" and "Used Heavy Vehicle Acquisition" components.
The Ecotrucking Program is a financial assistance initiative implemented by the Ministère des Transports du Québec, aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions from road freight transport. The program encourages the adoption of energy-efficient technologies and supports the transition to more environmentally-friendly vehicles. By promoting the acquisition of used heavy-duty vehicles and innovative technologies, the program helps reduce fossil fuel consumption and dependence on oil, while improving the energy efficiency of Quebec's road haulage sector.
