Success Story: Air Liquide

Mont-Saint-Hilaire, QC, March 31st, 2021 – AttriX is proud to count Air Liquide among its customers. Air Liquide is a leader in the production and distribution of gases. Established in Canada in 1911, Air Liquide provides its 200,000 customers and patients across the country with innovative gas, equipment and service solutions to the oil and gas, healthcare, chemical, automotive, aerospace, metallurgy and food industries, to name a few.

A status report in just two minutes

In total, a fleet of about 150 trucks has been deployed with AttriX’s solution, powered by Geotab. In a customer follow-up, Air Liquide administrators mentioned that the most appreciated aspects of the solution include access to centralized information, good customer identification, a global and accurate view of the fleet, and improved productivity.

Frederic Gaudreau, National Manager, Distribution, Air Liquide Canada explains: “The Geotab system allows us to know more about the types of stops, the length of time spent at the customer’s site, how long our drivers are stopped and why. As an example, Gaudreau says that when he came across an Air Liquide truck stopped on an on-ramp, a concerned driver contacted the fleet managers. Two minutes later, they were able to find out why the truck had stopped and contact the driver to ensure his safety.

So the company seems to appreciate having the information accurately, quickly and without confusion.

Based on real and accurate facts

When asked about the reason for the shift to telematics, Mr. Gaudreau says, “We wanted to update and refine our fleet management with the help of high-performance tools. It’s always more reassuring to be able to rely on facts in real time.”

Indeed, it is the accuracy of the information provided by the software that Air Liquide appreciates in order to be able to evaluate truck capacities, productivity, the optimal number of trucks on the road and other parameters.

Mr. Gaudreau emphasizes that the safety element was an important asset in the switch to telematics with AttriX. “Previously, driver evaluation was based mainly on the number of accidents/incidents. Now, it is possible to evaluate them based on their behavior on the road, such as acceleration or the way they use the brakes, for example,” he says. As a result, Air Liquide’s fleet is safer than ever.

Training adapted to a large-scale deployment

Before deploying a solution on a large number of trucks, it is important to ensure that the integration of the logistics system is efficient and hassle-free. AttriX’s trainers were on hand on multiple occasions to deliver both driver and administrator training, compliance training as well as training for the creation of dashboards and advanced reports.
